Giving Back
“The people of Dent County gave my family tremendous support, love and friendship throughout the years, and now, it’s wonderful to finally be able to give something in return.”

The Dragonfly Wings foundation was started in 2019 by Wes and Lisa (Durbin) Hester to answer the need for teacher and educational support in rural Missouri.
Through the years, the military took Wes and Lisa all over the world, but for Lisa, Salem has always been home. After Wes retired from the military in 2007, they started a business together, Foxhole Technology, Inc. Over the past 14 years, they built a strong, stable company, and in 2021, Lisa retired to spend more time with family, and to pursue their goal to help teachers in rural communities – especially those with few jobs and a declining, suitable housing market. Although Wes is still working, he contributes much of his time, energy and expertise to Dragonfly Wings, the Salem R-80 Construction Trades Program, and the non-profit Missouri Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (MCCOE), which he founded in 2018, to create educational opportunities and promote cyber security initiatives in the state of Missouri.
