“In almost every part of the world, the Dragonfly symbolizes change, transformation, adaptability, and self-realization. A symbol of happiness, new beginnings and change for many centuries, the Dragonfly spirit embraces hope, change and love… everything our foundation is based on, and everything it encompasses.”

On the Wings of Dragonflies.
The Dragonfly’s scurrying flight across water represents an act of going beyond what’s on the surface, and looking into the deeper implications and aspects of life.
The Dragonfly iridescence represents the magical discovery of our own ability to make a difference… even the smallest creature makes a ripple on the water, removing all doubts that even the smallest action can make a very big difference.
The dragonfly can move at an amazing 45 miles an hour, hover like a helicopter, fly backwards like a hummingbird, fly straight up, down and on either side – all while flapping its wings only 30 times a minute (mosquitoes and houseflies flap their wings 600 and 1000 times a minute!). The Dragonfly exudes such power and poise, yet it flies only for a fraction of its life – symbolizing, and exemplifying, the importance of living in the moment. By living in the moment we are aware of who we are, where we are, what we are doing, what we want, what we don’t, and what we can do, in this moment, to leave our mark on the world.
Given almost 80% of the Dragonfly’s brain power is dedicated to its sight and the fact that it can see 360 degrees around it, the Dragonfly symbolizes uninhibited vision, and the ability to see beyond our limitations – allowing us to soar past illusions that limit our growth and ability to change, so we can truly transform what is right in front of us, and in turn, our community and our world.
